BEHIND THE BRAND
Warpaint Creations is a veteran-owned custom knife company based out of a small rural town in South Texas. Mark Carreon, founder and co-owner, is a former Navy SEAL who experienced career-ending injuries that led to medical retirement. During his transition out of the Navy, Mark’s second child was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, and Mark learned that his son would require extra care and attention. Anticipating the tough road ahead—on top of no longer being physically able to operate as a SEAL—Mark’s mental health began to decline. It was then that Mark turned his long-lasting hobby into a life-long passion—the gritty, therapeutic process of knife making. He has since dedicated his time and energy to being a strong leader for his tribe and building Warpaint Creations.
Since retiring in 2022, Mark has been growing Warpaint into a cohesive, tribe-operated company. He is committed to fostering an environment where people love to work and can experience the therapeutic effects that come with creating something custom and hand-crafted that can stand the test of time. What started as a few custom blades at a time has grown to a high yield operation producing 50-plus knife and tomahawk orders for SEAL troops and civilians alike.
Mark’s experience in the Teams paired with his love of knives and crafting knives, has allowed him to refine his use and creation of various tools. Mark holds each product that leaves the shop to the highest standard, and he looks forward to making many more in the years to come.
The Carreon Tribe consists of Mark, his wife Courtney, their three children, and two pups. Warpaint is a family business, and each member plays a momentous role in helping where they can.
